Gearing up for Singapore

Ryan and I are so excited about Singapore! We can't wait! We leave the day after my birthday. On September 27 we'll  be boarding a plane heading to the southern hemisphere. I have habitually been cleaning out my closet every several days, scared I'm going to be significantly over the weight limit (again). Luckily we get to leave out of Houston. I'll be there for three weeks before we leave hanging out with family and friends. There is still plenty to be done. Number 1: finishing all the food we bought thinking it would be gone by now. (I think we can achieve this goal). Number 2 and probably most important: finding a place to live. Number 3: finding a job for me. Turns out I can work with the visa I got! I have to say I'm excited. Indianapolis has been kind of slow with no job. Number 4: finish downloading all my Friends episodes to my computer. (I'm just not sure if I can do without my Friends episodes.)

Also, just a reminder... we would love to have visitors, just let me know if you're interested!

And on an unrelated note, check out my photography blog. I took some cool pictures yesterday at the Indiana State Fair. http://lagoodnight.blogspot.com/

Photography Class 7.3.11

Yesterday was my first photography class, Beyond the Fundamentals. The class I took last month was for beginners and was more geared toward learning what your camera can do. The class I'm taking this month allows for a little more creativity.  Check out my photography blog to see the rest of the photos.

Ryan and I found out this morning that it's official, we are heading to Singapore. If everything goes according to schedule we should leave at the end of September! Also, we love visitors! ;)

Brickyard 400

Yesterday I accompanied Ryan to the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was a blast! Rolls Royce sponsored the T-45 fighter jets (powered by Rolls Royce engines of course) fly over before the race. We had about 20 pilots from the Navy in the Rolls suite with us. And they deserve VIP treatment.... lucky for us we were with them. We had passes to go down to the track and see the cars up close, we had police escorts to the race and back, and awesome food. I got to see Rascal Flatts up close and ride in an elevator with Jimmy Johnson (I didn't know who he was at the time, I haven't exactly followed racing lately) but he was one of the drivers. I couldn't believe how loud the race was! You have to wear ear plugs or I'm sure you will leave with short term hearing loss. After watching the first few laps we went inside the suite and every time the door opened it sounded like you were in one of the race cars themselves. It was an awesome time! Here are some pictures and a short video.

Some of the fighter pilots.

M&M sponsored car, it was my favorite car.

Following our police escort, we got to drive on the opposite side of the road.
